If the USPS loses an important piece of mail, what steps can be taken?

I've been waiting for an important item for weeks... it should have been here a long time ago, having had ample time, and I can confirm that it has been mailed. Is there some sort of complaint form I can fill out, or something else that can be done? Also... How is it that they can justify raising the price of stamps when they spend millions on advertising, not to mention make tons of profit on collectible stamps? Why the advertising? Who DOESN'T know about the US Postal service? Is it just me or is there something wrong with this picture? Additional info: It is a credit card... one that I have had to cancel and reapply for because of the fact that it could currently be sitting in the… [cont.]

A. The ONLY way to track any piece of mail that goes thru USPS is if it is sent out certified perferably, return receipt requested, EXPRESS, or priority mail. If the credit card company didn't use any of these methods to send you your card...good luck...hope you get it!
